Azhar Mahmood former Indian Captain’s life was full of roller coaster ride. As, after debuting at the tender age of 19 and making a record by making a century in first three matches, Azhar made his name and as his career flourished and he became one of the most technically sound batsmen.
Although, a match-fixing scandal ruined his career and he was banned in 1999 from playing any form of cricket. All his life incident was captured in the 2016 released movie Azhar.
Azhar was directed by Tony D’Souza and was produced by Ekta Kapoor, Sony Pictures Networks , and Shobha Kapoor. This movie is written by Rajat Aroraa and has the star cast of Emraan Hashmi, Prachi Desai, Lara Dutta and Nargis Fakhri.
Emraan Hashmi brilliantly portrayed the role of Azhar and the audience like this movie and Azhar did a quite brilliant job at the Box office. Although, it failed to make the impact like it was expected to do and only managed to cross RS. 30.25 crore at the Box office.
The movie starts with Azhar playing in his 99 Tesh match and scored a 100, but later he came in contact of a London-based bookie and thus, the ban in 1999. But later, he along with the help of his lawyer filed a case against this allegation. Will Azhar find a way to prove himself innocent or will he able to play Cricket again? All these questions will be answered on 14 August on Sony Max.
