The Ashay Kumar starrer Bollywood film “Airlift” released with great response from the public and the critics also penned good for the movie. The movie had a great start at the box office after its release on 22 January. The film collected total amount of Rs 12.35 crore on its opening day – the film did exceptionally well in the both in the multiplexes and in the single screen despite “Airlift” is a different genre movie.
The film “Airlift” is mainly performing well at the multiplexes in metros because of its thought provoking storyline. Now it is in the hands of mass to decide the fate of the film.
Airlift Box Office Collection
It is seems that the positive word of mouth publicity will makes jump of the movie in collecting more amount of 20 to 25 per cent jump in the Box Office collections today. The film is looking to collect around Rs 37-38 crore in its opening weekend.
The famous trade analyst Taran Adarsh takes his official page of the micro blogging site to write the collections of the movie and he tweeted, “#Airlift takes UAE and GCC by storm. Collects approx AED 900,000 [₹ 1.66 cr] on Thu. Highest opening day grosser of Akshay Kumar there”.
“#Airlift has an IMPRESSIVE Day 1. Fri ₹ 12.35 cr. India biz. Exceptional word of mouth. Biz should multiply over the weekend” – Taran Adarsh tweeted again.

The last year’s action hit, “Baby”, also collected the same amount which is also similar genre, raked in Rs 9.3 crore on its opening day.
But the collections of the “Airlift” movie will be definitely affected with the constants flow of the new releases. It will be interesting to see how the movie “Airlift” will be collects now. Predictions are saying it will be collects huge.
The distribution rights for the movie “Airlift” have been sold at around Rs 42 crore.
