2 CRPF jawans and 4 civilians injured in a grenade attack in Shopian District, JK

On Monday, 2 security personnel and a policeman were injured as the militants fired from inside the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Institute (JKEDI) in Pampore in the exchange of firing.

A senior officer said that operation against militants has been resumed. During the night, Floodlights were used to ensure that the militants were prevented from escaping under the cover of darkness.

On Tuesday morning to engage the militants, Rockets and heavy automatic gunfire were used.

As per the reports that 9 people have been injured in the attack.

a police officer said that the grenade exploded on the roadside in Bon Bazar area of Shopian district when a CRPF party was patrolling the area.

The officer said that 9 injured included four women. They have been shifted to a nearest hospital.

As per the reports, the militants behind the attack may have escaped but a search operation is on.

The reports said that On Tuesday, 3 CRPF soldiers and 5 civilians were injured after unidentified persons threw a grenade at a CRPF convoy in the Shopian district, J&K.

On Monday, a soldier was injured in the exchange of fire between security forces and militants holed up inside a government building in Pampore which had witnessed a suicide attack in February this year.
