Actrees Monica Dogra Get Chance In International Documentary Series Women

Monica Dogra a musician turned actor. She has last appeared in Himesh Reshammiya’s Teraa Suroor movie. The actress is now going to play a part in an international documentary.

A few months ago when Monica Dogra was in U.S. she has been offered to do a part in an international documentary. The series named Woman and base of the series is how violence against women drives global instability.

The series is produced by Gloria Steinem, who is the executive producer and host of the series and a Noted American journalist, feminist and social and political activist. She is also known for leading the Feminist Movement in the US during the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Monica’s inclination towards women’s rights and equality encouraged her to become a part of this project. The weekly series, is going to premieres on TV on May 10, tells the stories of women and men who have been struggling gender-based violence. The episodes will include reports that give details of the impact that sexual violence has on people across the globe.

Interestingly, the docuseries will also feature a special episode produced by Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. It will be about the rise of extremism in Pakistan, and how it is both sourced in and reproduced by violence towards women.

Monica said that this series has been produced for a news channel in U.S. The series is concentrated on how women are discriminated across the world. The part which she is going to play has been shot in Canada. In which they covered the ‘Highway of Tears’ murders — a series of unsolved murders and disappearances of women on Canada’s Highway 16.”

Media content, film and television have a powerful role in raising awareness [about issues], and through, modifying people’s perception. While growing up in the US, She was completely unaware of what was happening in Canada. It’s a privilege to be part of a show like this.
