A BJP worker Avinash Kumar was shot dead in Patna, Bihar, on Thursday morning. This triggered protests by BJP party leaders and legislators, said cops. According to local cops, Kumar was shot dead while he was on his was to tea stall near a temple in Salimpur Ahra area.

According to local police, Avinash Kumar was shot dead when he was on his way to a tea shop near a temple in Salimpur Ahra locality in Patna. Three people involved in his killing were identified through CCTV footage and we will arrest them soon,” a police official said.
This came in time when Bihar assembly elections are nearing. BJP party leaders and Nitin Navin, local legislator, have connected the incident to the deteroration of law and order in Patna and Bihar. “Killing of BJP worker has substantiated our stand that law and order has totally collapsed in Bihar,” he said.
