The Indian Badminton girl Saina Nehwal won the Australian Open Title 2016 by defeating Sun Yu of China.
In the starting Saina Nehwal gave a poor start but finally she overcame a poor start and played very well. Saina Nehwal defeated Sun Yu by 11-21, 21-14, 21-19.
Saina Nehwal clinched the Australian Open Super Series Badminton Title in Sydney, Australia on Sunday 12th June 2016.
This is the second title for the Saina Nehwal. She won last Australian Title in the year 2014.
The Indian ace Saina Nehwal started off brightly by taking a 4-2 lead in the first game but Sun Yu of China bounced back in style and won the next seven points on the trot. She never let go off the advantage as Saina found the going tough. Saina Nehwal lost the first game 11-21 in just 18 minutes and it seemed that a chance to win the tournament would slip away.
Saina Nehwal, who came into the final with a 5-1 record against Sun, bounced back well in the second game as she went on the attack. At 8-8, Saina won the next four points and maintained a decent lead. Saina extended her advantage and did not slip up as she took the second game 21-14.
In the third game Saina Nehwal gave her best performance and won the third game by 21-19. Finally She won the two game out three game and clinched the Australian title 2016.
