The last match of Hero Carribean Premier League was between the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and the Barbados Tridents. Faf Du Plesis who is the captain of St Kitts and Nevis Patriots won the toss and decided to bat first.
The opening pair of Lendl Simmons and Evin Lewis walked out to aopen the batting of their team but Lendl Simmons fell only after the second ball that faced off Wayne Parnell and went back to the pavillion after scoring only 2 run.
The captain Faf Du Plesis walked down the crease to handle the critical situation. But soon he also gave his wicket off the Parnell bowling after scoring 8 run and then JJ Smuts batted for his 14 but he also failed to convert starts into big ones.
Then Jonathan Carter joined hand the with the Evin Lewis to take the scoreboard to a fighting total. Both started playing dashing cover drives and their partnership groomed.
Soon Evin Lewis reached his consecutive half century in this CPL but then he trows his wicket to the bowling of Imran Khan. Meanwhile, Carter along with the Devon thomas was looking to take the counter stack to the Barbados Trident’s Bowlers and they were quite successful in doing the same.
But when thing were looking good for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Devon Thomas was run out and then big west Indian Carlos Braitwaite walked the crease. He stared with two couple of lusty blows but finally handed over his wicket to David Wiese.
Jonathan Carter also followed Braithwaite in the way to pavillion after smashing crucial 41 and after that rest of the batsman palyed like the genuine lower order batsman and somehow took the scoreboard to the respectful target of 162-8 (20 over).
For the Barbados Trident, David Weise and Wayne Parnell snached 2 wickets each, meanhwile the likes of Ravi Rampaul, Shoaib malik and Imran Kahan claimed 1 wicket each.
Then, it was the turn for the Barbados Tridents battsman to chase down the target of 162 and their new opening batsman Steve Taylor and Shoahib Malik take the guard to chase the target.
Shoahib Malik started well and was timing the ball quite nicely but his partner soon lost his wicket off Thisara Perera bowling. And then came the surprising elemat when Wayne Parnell who is a decent batsman came to bat at No. 3.
Then both Malik and Parnell started playing sensible cricket but were taking the single and doubles and it was looking quite obvious that they were told to play sensible cricket.
Parnell was playing aggressive cricket and shoahib Malik was Playing sensibly but then parnell got out after playing 19 run. Then joined him, AB De Villiers the superman of World Cricket walked him and started playing his brand of Cricket and supported Shoaib Malik.
Malik soon reached his fifty and then felt down off Badree’ bowling. Then Keiron Pollard, Walked down the wicket to take the charge of taking his team to victory.
They, took the scoreboard at the higher rate and soon De villiers reached his fifty marks and then took his team to victory.
