Due to Lahore blast West Indies won’t play in Pakistan

It’s been 7 long years when Pakistan was banned for hosting any International Cricket matches at their home ground. The attack on the Sri Lanka touring team in 2009 and forced the ICC to banned the International matches in Pakistan.

Lahore Match

Although, last year Zimbabwe went to the Pakistan for a 3 match ODI series and that has clearly reflected the craze of the fans for the Cricket in Pakistan. Although, they knew that zimbabwe had no chance of giving their home team any competition, despite that they gathered in larger number to watch that match.

Now, the latest news is coming from that now West Indies Cricket board had denied visiting Pakistan for Cricket series after the blast in Lahore.

Recently, an official of a PCB told the media wing that we were really close to inking a deal with the West Indies Cricket board for a couple of games for the shorter format of the Cricket but the Lahore bomb blast has terrorized them to deny our proposal.

Najam Sethi, who is the head of the PCB’s executive committee informed the media reporters about this and mentioned that ” we were just about to convince them for playing some of the matches of limited others games that will be scheduled to play in the month of October and November. We told them to support Pakistan Cricket to groom in the world by agreeing to tour our country and this will motivate another country too to play International cricket in Pakistan’.

He also mentioned, “But now bomb blast took place at Gulshan Park in Lahore in March forced WICB to clear that due to the security reason, they will not able to send their troops to Pakistan”.

Now, when West Indies Board has denied visiting Pakistan, the Pakistan and West Indies will play the full series of Tests, ODIs and T20 matches in the UAE.

Since, 2009 the likes of Zimbabwe, Kenya, and Afghanistan countries had toured Pakistan.

Also, media asked Sethi if Bangladesh managed to convince England to visit their country, then why not Pakistan convince West Indies. He replied that” People has the different perception about Pakistan as they think that there is a lot of Terrorist activities going in this country and all countries are facing security issues in playing Cricket in Pakistan”.

Sethi also told a reporter that his team has talked to many foreign players to play the final of the second edition of Pakistan Premiere League in Lahore. And many players has shown their concern for the security issue.

He also informs about the extra incentive to be paid to the foreign players to play the final of the second edition of Pakistan Premiere League in Lahore, if their team managed to reach the final.

Well, it looks like Pakistan are trying hard to star International Cricket on their home soil but they still have to work hard on the security issue to convince other countries like England, Australia, and India to play International Cricket in their country.
