E.L. Doctorow Passes Away at 84

Edgar Lawrence E.L. Doctorow was an American author. He is known internationally for his works of historical fiction. Among a long list of honors that he won during his life are the National Book Award, two PEN Faulkner awards and the National Humanities Medal, according to his website.

E.L. Doctorow died in Manhattan, New York hospital on 21st July. The cause of death was complications from lung cancer, the author’s son, Richard, told the New York Times.
