Fast track Smart City Competition : Lucknow tops the List, 13 more Cities announced

Today Venkhaiya Naidu announced the name of the winner of the Fast Track competition conducted for 23 cities. Lucknow topped the list of 13 more Smart Cities.

Minister of Urban Development and Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Venkaiah Naidu said today that Lucknow is the one of the best smart city. According to Venkhaiya Naidu Lucknow improved its quality of its smart city plan by 19% to make it to the select list.

Warangal, Telangana (13%), Shimla, Himachal Pradesh (27%), Chandigarh (9%), Raipur, Chattisgarh (25%), New Town Kolkata (11%), Bhagalpur, Bihar (25%), Panaji, Goa (9%), Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands (26%), Imphal, Manipur (27%), Ranchi, Jharkhand (27%), Agartala, Tripura (25%) and Faridabad, Haryana(12%) are also the winner of the smart cities.

Some cities were failed to get representation in the first round of competition, and it was held in January. Only 12 cities and some Union territory city name were announced in this Fast Track Smart City competition on January 28.

Under the smart city mission, Around 100 of the city from India will be developed, and the Union Government is providing Rs 48,000 crore over five years for this project. Venkhaiya Naidu also tweeted about this list.

According to Venkhaiya Naidu, The highlights of the smart city project add guaranteed water and power supply, cleanliness and solid waste management systems in the city.
Not only this, efficient urban mobility and public transportation, IT connectivity, e-governance, and citizen participation would also be a part of these smart cities.
