FIH Hockey Men’s Champions 2016 Trophy: Australia Beat By India 4-2 Finals Match Highlights

The national game of India has made us all proud in recent times. One of the moment came when India’s Men Hockey team reached the final of 2016 Men’s Champions Trophy.

Although India failed to lift the crown of Men’s Champions trophy but this India hockey team has impressed everyone in this tournament and clinched the Silver Meal in the FIH Champions Trophy 2016.

This is the 36th edition of Men’s Champions Trophy which is hosted by the London and it was started on 10 June 2016 and a total number of 6 teams participated in this tournament.

The final Men’s Champions Trophy Hockey 2016 began on June 17 Friday, 12:45 at IST and No 1 Australian has justified their No 1 ranking by winning their 14 titles of FIH Men’s Champions Trophy.

Australias were dominant in the first quarter as in the 9′ minute, they got a penalty but missed and after that, they played real tough attacking game of the Hockey.

Australians Hockey team had also edge over Indian team even in a penalty corner, as after the Q1 India has only 1 penalty corner , whereas Australians had 6 penalty corners.

Although first Quarter goes goalless but in the Quarter 2, Trent Millon of Australia took the guard and opened the gates for his team by scoring the first goal in the 21′ minute.

And after that in the 23’rd minute, Zalewski smashed the second goal of the match and given his team the lead of 2-0 over India.

Then in the third quarter, Australia’s Flynn Ogilvie gave his team another goal and provided his team the lead of 3-0.

But after that, the Indian team got their moment when India’s VR Raghunath’s cashed the penalty corner into a goal and had given some hope to his side by scoring the first goal for his team.

But just after that in the 45th minute, Australia came back strongly and Tristan White has scored his first of match and fourth goal for his team .

But just after that Indian Captain Mandeep Singh has scored his first goal and gave his team another scope of levelling the score of 4-2 but in the next 10-minute Indian team failed to score any goal and had to wear the silver medal for the second position.

Although India failed to win this Champions Trophy but Indian Hockey team has won the hearts of millions of Indians all over the Globe and also proved their worth and now will look forward  the Rio 2016 Olympics which will kick on in August.
