After years and years of fights and media spectacle, Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur are formally divorced now. The separated couple, who fought a long legal dispute over the custody of their two children, got divorced on Monday (June 13) finally.

The couple has filed the petition for the divorce in April. Karisma decided to withdraw all the charges and cases filed against her estranged husband at the local police station.
Karishma Kapoor & Sunjay Kapur Now Separated
The 41-year-old actor had earlier won the custody dispute which was said to be the significant bone of contention between the two and Sunjay has been allowed visitation rights. In fact, monetary exchanges between the couple have also been agreed upon.
It has been reported that a house in Mumbai owned by Sunjay’s family has been allotted to Karisma. Furthermore, the monthly interest from bonds of Rs 14 crore bought by Sunjay for their children will be used to pay their expenses as an obligation.
The report further suggested that Sunjay’s advocate Aman Hingorani said the family court has accepted the settlement.
Sunjay and Karisma had logged a mutual consent divorce appeal in 2014. But Karisma took everyone by surprise when she withdrew her approval from the divorce in November 2015 due to their dispute on some financial issues. Thereafter, Kapur made heads turn with his statement that Karisma married him on a ricochet after her break-up with Abhishek Bachchan.
The matter and disputes did not stop here. The Raja Hindustani actor later registered a dowry harassment petition against Kapur and her mother-in-law. But it was only recently that the two decided to settle things amicably.
Karisma tied the knot with Sunjay in 2003. But soon things began to turn bitter. Despite the attempts from both the sides, Karisma left Sunjay’s home in 2010 and lastingly moved back to Mumbai. The couple has two children- Kiaan Raj Kapoor and Samiera Kapoor. A boy and a girl.
