Mumbai: On Monday, A FIR was registered against Comedian and Actor Kapil Sharma at Oshiwara police station for carrying out illegal work in his flat in DLH Enclave at Goregaon under Maharashtra Regional Town Planning(MRTP) Act, 1966.
Along with Kapil Sharma, the registered FIR also mentions the four more flat owners including actor Irrfan Khan (5th floor), and builder Dev Land and Housing Pvt. Ltd (DLH). The other three flat owners are Shri Verma, Sara Maine and Gurdeep Narang. Sub-Engineer at P-south ward – Abhay Jagtap registered the FIR under section 53(7) of MRTP Act, 1966. The section deals with the flat owners for not complying with notices against illegal constructions and convictions under the section can get the imprisonment from 1 month to 3 years in a jail and a fine of Rs 2,000 – Rs 5,000.

The BMC officials found major violations in 15 flats in the high-rise, including illegal construction that was carried out in Kapil’s 9th floor flat.
According to the BMC, the alterations to the flats were carried out contrary to the full occupation certificate issued by the P-South Ward office in the month of November, 2013.
A Senior officer of the civic body said that Oshiwara police had asked for documents to register FIR and we furnished them on 24th August 2016. The FIR was going to be filed against Sharma and other violators in any case.
