Exterior
Ford Figo Aspire sedan is a new design for the automaker and it will be their first venture into the segment. This car is less than 4 metres in length but despite of that it looks awesome. The Figo Concept aligns itself with Ford’s “One Ford” philosophy, which means it now looks a lot like the new Mondeo and Taurus.
It gets a bold new grille and angular headlamps complement the design nicely. The silhouette is pretty much the same as most of the other compact sedans, but the rear is slightly disappointing and looks a bit unfinished.
Interior
Ford Figo Aspire sedan is expected to mimic that of the Eco-Sport and Fiesta in terms of both layout and overall design. However, the quality of the materials used as well as the feature list is expected to be toned down in a bid to keep costs under control. Equipment on the top spec diesel and petrol variants is expected to include AC, SYNC music system, auto-folding OVRMs, reversing sensors with camera, rain sensing wipers and auto dimming internal mirror. A fixed feature is now expected to be the AC vent at the rear as well an arm rest with cup holders.
Engine and Gearbox
The Figo Aspire sedan will be offered with be available with both petrol and diesel engines. The 1.2-litre petrol engine will make 70PS of peak power and 102Nm of peak torque. The 1.5-litre diesel engine on the other hand will be the big seller and will make 90PS of peak power and 204Nm of peak torque. Both engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox although there is no news of an automatic gearbox being offered yet. There is also no official word about the 1.0-litre Eco-Boost engine being available in the Aspire yet, but we think Ford might launch it in the near future with a possible S package added to it.
Ford Figo Aspire Price
Current Figo, it is a compact sedan which means it will compete with the likes of the Honda Amaze, Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Xcent and the Tata Zest. It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 8 lakh for the top-spec diesel model.
