Yesterday Gionee announced Elife S8 at MWC in Barcelona. Along with this handset company also showcased their brand new “LOGO” which is influenced by the smiley emojis and through this new logo company has tried to re-position themselves as a global company.

If we talk about the design and build of this handset then it definitely steals the show in terms of its looks. It boasts full metal body with a non-removable battery. Though Gionee claims that they have bring new invisible antenna loop design but when one have a close look he can see the antenna strip which is running along the edges of the rear panel.
It sports 5.5” Full HD AMOLED Display delivering screen resolution up to 1080X1920p. Just like apple phones even Gionee Elife S8 incorporates the new 3D touch Pressure sensitive technology. The bezels present on the side are quite slim giving it a look of bezel-less design. It also amalgamates finger print sensors on the “Home” button.
To further protect the screen it also embodies Corning gorilla Glass 4 protection. When one keep pressing the camera for long time then it automatically starts the front camera so that one can click selfies, similarly long pressing home button results into option of ‘change the wallpaper’ and so on.
There is also a new feature which bring the apps when hard press on the edges. It is powered by Octa core processor which is clocked at 1.9GHz. The processor is based on MediaTek’s Helio P10 and as we all know that Helio P10 is usually encompassed in the mid-range handsets. The processor is combined along with 4GB of RAM. It bears 64GB of storage on the board which can be further expandable up to 200GB with the help of MicroSD card slot.
It accommodates 16MP of shooter at the rear which comes along with RWB sensors which means now the usual green pixels are replaced by better white pixels that are more sensitive and f/1.8 aperture with both laser AF as well as phase detect AF. On the front we have 8MP of shooter on the board mated along with ¼ inch sensor size. One can even adjust the videos by beautified video modes.
It functions on google’s latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS which is topped by Gionee’s Amigo 3.2 UI. The highlight of this phone can be considered as its ability to run Whatsapp by both the SIMs on the same phone. To augment the audio quality, it also interpolates 70-dB high sensitivity audio system along with AKM4961 chip. It also includes features like “Multi-dimensional noise reduction” and “3D recording”.
It houses whopping 3000mah battery at the rear which comes along with the fast charging feature that can charge the android phone at 18W. it entails connectivity features like dual hybrid SIM slot, 4G LTE support, 3G, USB with MicroUSB, Bluetooth V4.0 with A2DP, GPS with A-GPS, FM radio etc. It comprehends sensors like accelerometer, proximity and compass.
It will be launched at the end of the month March at the price of Euro 450.
