Happy Bhaag Jayegi Movie is banned in Pak for showing Jinnah portrait

Happy Bhaag Jayegi is a rom-com movie with a major twist the love ballad is not as simple as it was supposed. It is actually an Indian-Pakistan love ballad. But unfortunately, Pakistan is not lucky to see this movie as the movie has been banned, instead of give a cut to some shots the board has finally choose to ban the movie that stars Diana Penty, Abhay Deol film, Ali Faisal and Pakistani actors, as per the reports of Hindustan Times.

HBJ-story

The film revolves around the bride Diana aka Happy running away from her sangeet ceremony and incidentally she landed in Lahore, Pakistan at Abhay;’s house.

If reports to be believed it says,

“The Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC) had issues with a scene showing a portrait of Pakistani leader Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Anand said the board also had problem with Piyush Mishra’s Pakistani policeman. However, instead of asking for more cuts in the film, the board decided to ban Happy Bhag Jayegi.”

In the Hindustan Times report, Happy Bhag Jayegi producer Anand L Rai was quoted as saying,

“The censor board of Pakistan saw the film and they loved it. They wanted us to cut a minor part of the film. We agreed to it. Initially, I was told that the film is clean. Later, we were informed that a ministry in Pakistan had objected to the film. As a filmmaker, the only greed I have is that the movie should reach a larger audience. The political reason for which a film is banned has nothing to do with a common man.”

The film helmed by Director Mudassar Aziz that stars Ali Fazal and Jimmy Shergill along with Pakistani actor Momal Sheikh. The flick also shows spectacular locales outside Lahore.
