Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan in race to star in ‘Padmavati’?

With Vicky Kaushal, no more a part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming classical drama ‘Padmavati’, the director has switched his attention to bigger actors to play the role of the eponymous character’s hubby and reports hints that Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan are the ideal to bag the character. ‘Padmavati’ stars Deepika Padukone in the female lead role with Ranveer Singh as the anti-hero or could say villain in the upcoming movie.

The speculations were at rounds about Shahid to play the role of Deepika’s husband and King of Chittore in SLB’s next venture Padmavati. But the real race is considering between Shahrukh and Hrithik to bag the role.

Vicky Kaushal had been first roped in to perform Rawal Ratan Singh but reports hints that his association with the film too early make him drop out from the venture. Some reports have also alleged that it was Deepika Padukone who is not ready to work with the three-film-old actor that worked against him.

Reportedly, the lead couple has to do a few intimate scenes in the movie and the actress was awkward doing those scenes with an almost new rising star.

A news report quoted a source as saying, “Bhansali is looking for a ripped actor since it is a compelling role has to stand up to Ranveer Singh’s grizzled character. There has to be an amazing chemistry between the star and Deepika, especially for intimate scenes.”

But Vicky’s loss could now be Shah Rukh or Hrithik’s winnings. Sources maintain that although no name has been concluded for the king’s role, Hrithik and Shah Rukh are best picks. “Bhansali wants to test Hrithik-Deepika pairing at this stage since it will be a brand-new pair in the Bollywood.
But, Shah Rukh has also shown concern in the outline. Since the venture is scheduled to roll in September, the director will take a conclusion soon,” claims the source.
