He poured the medal to India as it was facing a drought like situation after the women’s doubles pair of G. Jwala and Ashwini Ponnappa won the medal at World Championships in 201. They ended the void of 28 year medal winning condition for India.

The live action will have venue at the Gelora Bung Karno stadium & the prestigious tournament will be live in action to see World’s brilliant players. Srikanth is in his 2nd World Championship so it would be the scarcity of experience that would matter for him & Olympic Bronze Medalist Saina has never progressed beyond the Quarters 5 times.

So, this is the golden opportunity for both of them to step forward from their feeble points and strike in the Championship soon and make a mark.

Saina will take on the winner of the match that will be between Kati Tolmoff of Estonia Hong Kong’s Cheung Ngan Yi as Saina has got a bye in the first round. She is ready to start her campaign in the second round.

Srikanth has already won two huge titles this season at India Super Series and Swiss Open. He will face an awesome player Michael Fariman of Australia in the first round of the World Championship.
