In yesterday’s match KXIP vs DD Glenn maxwell is reprimanded by referee for showing dissent on umpire decision during his team’s crushing eight-wicket defeat against Delhi Daredevils in an Indian Premier League cricket tournament match on Friday.
Amit mishra was the hero for DD in yesterdays match with his turning ball. He took 4 wickets for DD and lead to his first win in in I.P.L 2016. According to a press release issued,”In the VIVO IPL match in Delhi last evening, Glen Maxwell of Kings XI Punjab was reprimanded by the Match Referee for showing dissent at the umpire’s decision.
For the purposes of Article 2.1.5, ‘excessive’ shall include: (a) repeated appealing of the same decision/appeal; (b) repeated appealing of different decisions/appeals when the bowler/fielder knows the batter is not out with the intention of placing the Umpire under pressure; or (c) celebrating a dismissal before the decision has been given. It is not intended to prevent loud or enthusiastic appealing.
Maxwell admitted to the level 1 offence (Article 2.1.5 of the IPL Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials) and accepted the sanction.Maxwell accepted his fault that he had done during the match.
. After opting to field first, DD, playing in their backyard at the Feroz Shah Kotla ground, restricted the visitors to 111 for 9 and then knocked off the runs in 13.3 overs. The win, with 39 balls remaining, was DD’s third-biggest win and third consecutive win against KXIP.
