J&K Army apprehends 2 terrorists in Pattan; police uniforms, grenades recovered

Jammu: On Thursday, in a joint operation, the army and the J&K Police apprehended two local terrorists in Pattan city, Baramullah district, Kashmir.

According to a specific information about the movement of suspected terrorists near Wusunkhui in Pattan, a joint team of the state police and Indian army launched a joint operation in which two terrorists were intercepted on Thursday early in the morning.

The apprehended terrorists have been identified as Parvez Ah Mir 34 years old and Shaukat Ahmed Ganai 26 years. Both the apprehended terrorist are from Andargam.

Two grenade launchers, two AK- 47 rifles, and other war like arms and ammunition have been recovered from these terrorists, besides the police and Army uniforms, which expose the nefarious designs of the terror outfits to terrorise people in the kashmir valley in the garb of the security forces.

A week ago, 2 army personnel and a policeman were killed in a militants attack. The militants attacked a security convoy on the Srinagar – Baramulla national highway. This is the first attack on a convoy in Baramulla after many year. Others 5 soldiers were also injured in the militant attack.

Curfew imposed in the Kashmir valley due to violence in the valley after killing the terrorist Burhan Wani by the Indian security forces in the month of July 2016.
