SRINAGAR: A cop died this morning and another got injured in the surgical strike carried out by security personnel against the militants in Allah Pir area of Poonch District, Jammu Kashmir. Meanwhile, 3 terrorist have been killed so far in this operation.
According to the reports, police received intel about heavily armed terrorists, hiding in an under construction government building in the outskirts of the poonch. On surrounding the building, security personnel faced heavy fire, resulting in 1 casualty and 1 injured. According to the intel 2-3 terrorists took shelter in that building. Among the injured is one sub-inspector of SOG(Special Operation Group) and the other is a civilian named Tariq.
The encounter reported at 7:50 in the morning, near Army’s 93 Brigade Headquarters and is still going on. Meanwhile, 3 terrorist have been killed and 4 weapons have been recovered from the slain terrorists and search is still going on.
“Alert soldiers noticed some suspicious terrorist activity in Nowgham sector and challenged the terrorists”army official added.
“Militants open fired at the security personnel’s posts which was effectively retaliated, by triggering gunbattle ”he added further.
Shops and business establishments are all shut down due to this unrest in the valley even as preparations are underway for Id-ul-Azha which falls on this Tuesday.
