Journalist of Hindi Daily shot dead in Rohtas district of Bihar : On Saturday morning, a was shot was shot dead in Rohtas district, Bihar over his articles on illegal stone chips units, the local police said.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer – Alok Ranjan said that the deceased was identified as 35-year-old Dharmendra Singh. At time of firing, he was having tea at a road side stall at his Amra tola village. Dharmendra was shot dead by some unidentified assailants.
Police officer – Ranjan said that the assailant fired bullet in his stomach from point blank range resulting in his death. Dharmendra died on way to Varanasi. Dharmendra Singh is survived by wife and a son.
The deceased was working for a prominent Hindi daily at Sasaram, Bihar.
The Sub-Divisional Police Officer – Alok Ranjan further said that probe is on in the murder case. The murder is linked to illegal quarrying business in Rohtas district, Bihar.
This was the second incident of the killing of journalist in the state Bihar. In the month of May, some assailants killed journalist – Rajdeo Ranjan in Siwan, Bihar in the same district. This incident of killing the journalist had sent shock waves throughout the country.
