The story is about a ambitious son who wants to go America to pursue his career but his parents deny him. His parents are down to earth and give more importance to their land and house in village. This causes a rift between them. Their son Devdatta (Subodh Bhave) leaves his parents (Mahesh Manjrekar, Medha Manjrekar) and goes to US. After 13 years he returns to India with his wife Anita and daughter Sara.

He still thinks India is backward and people here are poor. Her daughter insists meeting her grandparents but is denied by his father. After constant obstinacy of her daughter he decides to go dapoli to take his parents home. He visits Dapoli but things haven’t changed as there’s still conflict between them and they refuse to come Mumbai.
