Latest news! MPs May Soon Get 100% Salary Hike :- It is now expected that the salary of Members of Parliament(MP) can soon hike as the Central government has decided to give a 100% raise, taking their basic pay from Rs 50,000 to one lakh per month.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) is learnt to have agreed to consider the recommendation of Joint Committee on Salaries and Allowances of Members of Parliament. This joint Committee is headed by Bharatiya Janata Party MP Yogi Adityanath.
The PMO is believed to have agreed to revise not only the salary of Parliamentarians but also their allowances.
Recently, the Central government has increased the salary of President from current Rs. 1.5 lakh per month to Rs. 5 lakh and the salary of State Governor from current Rs. 1.10 lakh to Rs. 2.5 lakh per month.
