Alcatel’s new smart phone with the name X1 is available on online stores and the USP of this handset is that it supports Eye biometric system. Hitherto finger print sensors were considered to be an advanced feature and many companies under mid range segment couldn’t even offer the finger print sensors but its look like alcatel is trying to make high standards in the mid range segment making it tough for the companies to compete in this range.

Though this handset is already available with online retailers but company is yet to make this handset official. It is priced at INR 15,999 and hence making itself the first handset in mid range segment with biometric support.
It measures 145×69.2×6.9mm and weighs 140grams. It sports 5” AMOLED HD Display with 720X1280p screen resolution. It is powered by Octa core (quad-core 1.4GHz + quad-core 1GHz) Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 chipset and is coupled along with 2GB RAM. It bears 16GB memory of memory on the board with expandable external memory up to 128GB. It operates on latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.
It encompasses 13MP rear camera with dual tone LED Flash and f/2.0 aperture. It mounts 5MP of camera at the front with LED Flash to click selfies and for video calling. It encompasses connectivity options like WiFi, GPRS/EDGE, GPS with A-GPS, Bluetooth, USB etc. It also boards LTE Case 4 providing downloading speed up to 150Mbps and upload speed up to 50Mbps.
As we have mentioned above it incorporates eye-biometric system dubbed EYE-D that can unlock the device without needing any touch. It houses 2150mAh capacity at the back which promises talking time up to 19h and stand by time up to 74hours.
