New CM of Tamil Nadu Panneerselvam meet Modi today, demand Bharat Ratna for Jayalalithaa :- On monday, New Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu – O Panneerselvam will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to hand over a letter that would request the government to bestow the Bharat Ratna on former chief minister Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa and also request to install a bronze statue in the Parliament complex.

On Monday morning, Tamil Nadu CM Panneerselvam arrived in New Delhi and will shortly meet the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On 10th December 2016, the Tamil Nadu Cabinet had decided to recommend the name of former CM of Tamil Nadu Jayalalithaa for teh highest civilian honour of India.

After the death of Jayalalithaa, in first meeting chaired by Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, the Tamil Nadu Cabinet also decided to recommend to the Central Government for the installation of her life-size bronze statue in the Parliament complex.

Moreover, Recently Cyclone Vardah hit  Tamil Nadu. The Chief Miniter of Tamil Nadu will also give the details of the damages caused by the Cyclone Vardah in the state.

Earlier on 12th December, Cyclone Vardah hit several parts of Tamil Nadu state.

The storm was so powerful that uprooted trees, overturned cars and did extensive damage to buildings as it tore across Chennai.

As per the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) report that at least 10 people have died in the state due to the cyclone.
