Pakistan repeatedly violates ceasefire resorts to firing shelling in Rajouri sector, J&k

Jammu & Kashmir: Once again, Pakistani troops violated ceasefire on Tuesday by resorting to firing and mortar shelling on Army posts and civilian areas along the LoC in three areas of Noushera sector in Rajouri district, J&K. Defence spokesperson – Col Manish Mehta said that Pakistan troops resorted to unprovoked firing in three areas of Noushera Rajouri district from 05:15 hours today.

He said that Pakistan fired mortar bombs, small arms and automatic weapons, and added that Indian troops gave a befitting reply. Five ceasefire violations have been reported in over 24 hours along the LoC.

Pakistan military violated ceasefire four times on Monday morning and restored to mortar shelling and heavy firing in Shahapur-kerni, Mandi, KG Sectors and Saujian in Poonch district, injuring 5 five women.

After a shell triggered fire in oil containers at a security force camp, several shops were burnt down.

On 2nd October, Pakistan resorted to shelling mortar and heavy firing from 1915 hours along LoC in forward areas in Pallanwala belt of Jammu district. On 1st October, Pakistan had shelled Indian posts and civilian areas with RPGS, HMGS, and mortar bombs amid small arms firing along LoC.

On 30th September, Pakistan had opened fire from small arms along the LoC in Samnam, Chaprial, and Pallanwala areas of Akhnoor sector, Jammu district, J&K. On 29th September, Pakistan had resorted to firing in Balnoie area of Mendhar sector, On 28th September, Pakistan had violated the ceasefire by opening fire on Indian army posts along LoC in Sabzian area Poonch sector. On 6th September, Pakistan had fired on Army posts along the LoC in Pooch sector. On 2nd September, Pakistan had also violated the ceasefire by firing on forward army posts along the LoC in Akhnoor sector of Jammu district.

In Last year ceasefire violation by Pakistan, 16 civilians were killed and 71 others injured in 405 incidents.
