Parkash Jarwal: Another AAP MLA booked under the Molestation Case New Delhi: An AAP MLA named as Prakash Jarwal has been accused of sexual harassment with a woman. After two weeks, Prakash Jarwal has followed the suit as earlier AAP MLA Dinesh Mohaniya made headlines for assaulting a woman.
An FIR has been registered against AAP MLA Jarwal at a police station in Greater Kailash by the victim. The victim told the police that Parkash Jarwal not only mistreated her but also molested her.
There are some section in which Jarwal has been booked as follow in recent molestation case under the Indian Penal Code:
- 354(assault with intent to outrage her modesty),
- 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation),
- 509 (gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman)
- 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention)
This molestation case is seen as another major set back for the party.The Aam Aadmi Party has seen several of its leaders embroiled in controversies over the past few months.
Earlier, Parkash Jarwal had been arrested in May 20, 2014, when he assaulted a junior engineer of Delhi Jal Board (DJB). The Delhi Jal Board registered a complaint against Jarwal at the Sangam Vihar police, after the complaint police arrested him . While the engineer was overlooking the drilling of a tube-well, then Jarwal had assaulted the engineer at Sangam Vihar.
The victim engineer of DJB alleged that he was asked by an associate of legislator to stop the work because it was to be inaugurated by Jarwal. The engineer did not stop the work because stopping the work, it would have delayed the drilling of a tube well. The police of Sangam Vihar station said that the engineer of DJB had explained the situation to the MLA who later assaulted him.
On May 27, Jarwal got the bail but he was again arrested by the Ambedkar Nagar police in connection with an FIR registered in August 2013. The complaint was filed against him when he was protested after a rickshaw driver himself on fire because rickshaw driver was being harassed by two policemen in South East Delhi.
