Petrol & Diesel Cut Revised to 1 Paisa after clerical error in the Morning

Well, as you all may know that Petrol and Diesel’s prices are on a hike since last few weeks and people are really getting troubled because of it. Now, today the reduction in petrol and diesel prices was done by the company down to 1 Paisa a liter, previously they have reduced it to the 60 Paisa but now they revised by saying clerical error in some area.

As per the reports, State-owned oil companies this morning announced a reduction in petrol price by 60 paise which means Petrol Rs 77.83 a liter and diesel by 56 paise to Rs 68.75 in Delhi. They didn’t let it go for long and revised the price in few hours down to 1 paisa a liter each. As per the sources, these prices were earlier announced with the mistake and company took back the mistake as soon as they realized it.

“The reduction was supposed to be 1 paisa but due to a clerical error the price prevalent on 25 May was communicated as today’s price,” a senior official of Indian Oil Corp (IOC), the nation’s largest fuel retailer, explained. You all should know that Petrol price in Delhi now costs Rs 78.42 per liter and diesel Rs 69.30.

The sources are saying that marginal reduction comes after 16 consecutive price increases since 14 May when fuel retailers ended a 19-day pre-Karnataka poll hiatus to pass on a spike in global oil rates. As you all may know that so far the petrol price was increased by Rs 3.8 per liter and diesel by Rs 3.38.

Also, the government is planning to take this whole issue under GST and reports are coming that various state governments can also reduce the price or rate if they want too by themselves but they won’t. Delhi has the cheapest price among all metros and most state capitals.
