Diphu (Assam): Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi said ‘if BJP comes to power, then Assam will be run from Nagpur; the RSS headquaters or the PMO. He appeals that people of Assam reject BJP in upcoming Assembly polls.
He also warned the people of Assam that BJP will only invoke violence in the state and end the environment of peace started by Congress.
“We want everyone should think and should act for one’s culture, language and that no one is suppressed in the country. What does BJP want in Assam. First they will come and ask for your votes and then Assam will not be run from here, but will be run from Nagpur or the Prime Minister’s Office,” he said addressing a poll rally here in Karbi district.
Rahul Gandi said that wherever BJP come, it tries to bring violence and has disturbed peace and extracted the example of Haryana where within monts of comingto power there was violence between Jats and Non-Jats.
He further said; The truth is wherever BJP goes, it tries to make people fight with each other. For example in Haryana, for 10 years there was peace but just after coming of BJP to power, it has brought violence within a monts between Jats and Non-Jats.
He continuos on saying, You have seen what has happened in Gujarat and Bihar. They just want to end the peace where ever they go and wanted to impose the one ideology of what RSS say.
Gandhi also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of making false promises and said the people of Bihar have sent him back packing in a “direct flight” from the state as he failed to fulfil any of the promises made to them during Lok Sabha polls.
While BJP wanted one kind of thought to be imposed across the country it was Congress that took each and everyone along and did not want anyone to be disturbed irrespective of one’s religion, caste or area, he said.
Attacking the PM Modi and asking people to reject BJP as they did in Bihar, Gandhi said, “the next time Modiji comes to Assam, ask him about the promises he made to you for bringing back black money, tackle price rise, funding of Assam and providing MSP for farmers, ask him as to which promise he has fulfilled”.
He continues his stress on Bihar and said as the people of Bihar sent him back to Delhi, the people of Assam needs to do the same.
