Railway Tender Case: CBI Rais at Rabri Devi’s House and Questioned Tejashwi Yadav

Well, reports are coming that this afternoon CBI conducted a search at the residence of Rabri Devi. You all may know that she is the wife of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and they raid was connected with the Railways hotel tender case. Also, the reports are confirming that Lalu’s son Tejashwi Yadav was also questioned about the case which is to do with alleged irregularities in awarding a contract for the upkeep of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) hotels in Ranchi and Puri.

Also, the sources are saying that CBI held Tejashwi and he was reportedly questioned for four hours. Some of you may know that it’s the case that JD (U) leader Nitish Kumar cited for his party breaking away from the ‘mahagathbandhan’, or ‘grand alliance’ last year, which in turn led to the exit of the RJD from the Bihar government. Overall, you can say that things aren’t going to good for the RJD and they are getting framed for so many things and an investigation is going on.

Also, the reports are coming that the case was filed against former railway minister Lalu, Rabri, Tejashwi, and others are to do with the alleged grant of illegal favors to a private hotel company through IRCTC when Lalu was railways minister from 2004 to 2009. Also, the investigation for the same case is going on since that time. Some other names such as PK Goyal, a former managing director of IRCTC, and Sarla Gupta, the wife of one of Lalu’s close aides Prem Chand Gupta are included in the case.

Sources are saying that the CBI is alleged that Lalu favored a private hotel company for a contract. Also, they are saying that he did it in exchange for prime land the company sold at below market price to a ‘Benami’ company owned by his associate Sarla Gupta. Overall, it is a huge news and big breaking for the RJD and Lalu family.
