Ramjas College: Clash between Nationalism & Anti-nationals

On Wednesday, clashes began as some DU students, led by members of AISA and SFI, took out a march on Wednesday demanding action against the ABVP college students.

They are demanding the action against ABVP because a day ago, ABVP Members had disrupted Ramjas Literary Society. The ABVP members had thrown bricks and shouted slogans forcing the college to cancel the event because  JNU students Umar Khalid and Shehla Rashid had been invited to speak.

Umar Khalid and Shehla Rashid are those students of JNU who raised the Anti-national slogans Against India in JNU campus last year. Kanhaiya Kumar, Umar Khalid and Shehla Rashid are the three students of JNU who were arrested by Delhi Police on the sedition charges. They are all in bail.

Protesting against the ABVP members, the students of AISA and SFI marched the protest in the DU Campus. As the protesters reached the Art faculty, ABVP members started throwing bottles at the protesting students. They also snatched the phone of Shehla.

Now today, two student groups(AISA and JNU) have planned protests at Delhi Police Headquarters near ITO and North Campus.

Today, All India Students Association(AISA) from DU and Jawaharlal Nehru University(JNU) are jointly protesting at the police headquarters. They are demanding the arrest of Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) members, who allegedly clashed with students on Wednesday.

The accused of the anti-national slogan at JNU – Umar Khalid addresses protesters today. He addresses the students and said that Police have not even been able to file a charge sheet against me and they say I am an anti-national and I have links with terrorist organisations.

Today, ABVP members also at north campus start protesting. They said that they are against anti-nationals and will continue to protest.

Protesters at ITO said that they will not vacate the place till the police register a FIR against ABVP members. Protesters said that we are at police headquarters because Maurice Nagar police station is partial. They favour ABVP.
