Samsung: Unveils World’s Largest-Capacity SSD 30.72TB Capacity Feature & Price: – The phone Samsung on Tuesday unveiled and launched at the PM1643 which emerges as the world’s largest-capacity solid state drive (SSD) with a whopping 30.72 terabyte (TB) storage space.
The new SSD is specially designed in order to meet the demands of next-generation enterprise storage systems with technologies which include the 64-layer V-NAND and 3-bit 512-gigabit chips. Asus VivoBook S14 Features
Samsung World’s Largest Capacity SSD
This is the successor to the 15.36TB enterprise SSD that was declared in March 2016. In particular, it is the “industry’s largest capacity Serial Attached SCSI SSD.” There is a grouping of 32 1TB NAND flash packages which combined and jointly built the PM1643 SSD, each one comprises 16 stacked layers of 512Gb V-NAND chips.
This is regarded as the new capacity, of the latest enterprise SSD by Samsung which is regarded to deliver nearly twice the performance levels from its earlier generation. Huawei P20 Triple Lens Rear Camera
The drive has a 12GBps SAS interface with random read and writes speeds of up to 400,000 IOPS (Input/output operations per second) and 50,000 IOPS which is the sequential read and write speeds of up to 2,100MBps and 1,700MBps, respectively is said to be.
These performance standards are four times the random read performance and three times the sequential read performance of the particular ones of the 2.5-inch SATA SSD.
Samsung has delivered a new control architecture on its fresh enterprise SSD which combines and integrates nine controllers from the previous high-capacity SSD range into a single package.
The drive of the same on the other side has Through Silicon Via (TSV) technology to interconnect 8Gb DDR4 chips, creating 10 4GB TSV DRAM packages – totaling 40GB of DRAM.
This is said to be the first time when an SSD has included a TSV-applied DRAM.
On the software front, the SSD has an error correction code (ECC) algorithm which is said to make sure the high reliability and minimal storage maintenance.

There is also support for metadata protection and data retention and recovery from sudden power failures. The SSD arrives with an endurance level of one full drive write per day (DWPD) which is making it a perfect option to write 30.72TB of data every single day over the five-year warranty period. It is also there is a mean time between failures (MTBF) functionality which goes for the time period of the two million hours.
“With our launch of the 30.72TB SSD, we are once again shattering the enterprise storage capacity barrier, and in the process, opening up new horizons for ultra-high capacity storage systems worldwide,” said Jaesoo Han, Executive Vice President, Memory Sales, and Marketing Team, Samsung Electronics, said in a press statement.
Samsung already begins manufacturing initial quantities of the 30.72TB SSD model which set a plan to expand the entire enterprise SSD level eventually in the coming year with 15.36TB, 7.68TB, 3.84TB, 1.92TB, 960GB and 800GB versions.
The prime target for these versions is available in the several market segments and schemes which includes, the government, financial services, healthcare, education, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, social media, business services, retail, and communications sectors and so on.
