Adiyta Roy Kapoor and Katrina Kaif’s much awaited film ‘Fitoor’ finally released and it bombed at the box office. While audience blames ‘Fitoor’s director Abhishek Kapoor for the film’s failure, an insider has a completely different story to tell.
Fitoor got a valentine day boost but was still lower than Sanam re while being higher than Deadpool. First Weekend of Fitoor is lower than both Deadpool and Sanam Re.
This is one of the worst performance for Katrina Kaif and reduces her star power while Aditya roy Kapoor contiues his poor run post aashiqui 2.
First Day is lower than Airlift , Ghayal , Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 and Wazir to be 5th highest of 2016 so far.
Fitoor opening is very similar to Sanam Re which is a movie at a much lower budget.
Fitoor got hit in metros by Deadpool which took away a chunk of its audiences and had a very limited release in single screens where it didn’t had any appeal.
As reported by DNA, film’s director Abhishek Kapoor and the producers had various creative differences related to the film. The director and producers never stood on the same ground. Be it film’s direction or marketing, they never saw eye-to-eye.
Aditya Roy Kapoor scored his first hit Aashiqui 2 long back and the movie ended up as a huge hit across the world. The movie has been made on a budget of Rs 7 crores and it collected Rs 100 crores all over, but with Fitoor he’s not been able to do 50 crore.
It is the box office number that speaks of the films, and this film, which is set in the beautiful locales of Kashmir seems to have lost its charm somewhere. Not opening to really good reviews the Abhishek Kapoor film did not earn as expected on the very first day.
