Pilibhit: After being repeatedly taunted by her husband for being ‘too pretty’, Rekha Lodhi 30 years old woman from Piliphit district of Uttar Pradesh burnt her face.
As per the report, the couple got married six years ago, when Rekha was 24 years old. The husband of Rekha, Nirmal Kumar began taunting her for being too beautiful and always would get angry on her wife Rekha for attracting unwanted attention from relatives, neighbours and friends.
Fed up with the taunts of husband and to dodge attention, Rekha burnt her face. The doctors said that she has sustained 20 to 25 per cent burns and is out of danger but has been disfigured for whole life.
According to a report, Rekha said that I could handle the slights till they came from my husband but it became too much when my father-in-law joined in. It became impossible for me to fight both my husband and him.
Further report said that Rekha has refused to file a complaint against her husband, even though the mother of Rekha wants justice for her daughter Rekha.
