US Open 2016: Serena Williams Crashes Out Of Loses No. 1 ranking

The No. 1 seeded Serena Williams has been kicked out of the 136th edition of US Open on September 9. Serena lost the semifinal match against the Karolina Pliskova by 6-2, 7-6 (7/5).

This lost of William not only cost her the final spot but even her record of 23rd Grand Slam title and a record 187th straight week at number one is under threat. There is a huge possiblity that Serena will lost her No. 1 rank in the new rankings.

Meanwhile, this lost of Serena Williams has come to surprise to many people because she lost the match against Pliskova who was playing her first Semi final match in her last 17 attempts.

Pliskova showed her happiness in the post-match interaction with the media wing as she told ” I don’t believe it. Beating Serena Williams is a big thing for me as she is a great champion.”

Although, Serena’s fan were completely disheartened after this defeat but Serena showed her maturity and gave the credit to the 10th seeded Karolina Pliskova for playing well in this encounter. Serena told media wing ” Pliskova played really well today and if she would play less quality game then I would have defeated her easily but she was best today.”

Serena accepted that she did not play well but Pliskova deserved to win.

Meanwhile, Pliskova will not play the final on Saturday and it will interest to see whether she will be able to handle the pressure of being the finalist or not. But for some time, let her celebrated for beating the world No. seeded Serena Williams.
