US Open Tennis Championship: Sania Wins Connecticut Open Doubles Title Ahead of US Open

The Indian tennis sensation Sania Mirza has won the Connecticut Open with Monica Niculescu of Romania here.This win is considered to the boost raiser win before the most important Grand Slam US Open, that will kick on from tomorrow.

Sania Mirza paired up with the Monica Niculescu for this tournament and thrashed the Kateryna Bondarenko of Ukraine and Chuang Chia-Jung of Taiwan in the final. This India and Romanian pair have won the final by 7-5, 6-4 in the summit clash, that went for the time period of one hour and 30 minutes.

The last time, when Sania and Niculescu joined hands was way back in the year 2010, where they both managed to reach the quarterfinal of the Western and Southern Open. This pair only played that match before calling their partnership out.

This win has just come one day before the most important Tennis tournament Grand Slam US Open, that will kick off on August 29, 2016.

Meanwhile, both these Tennis player talked to the official media present there about their partnership. Sania told the media wing that ” “We know each other for a long time. Also our games kind of suit each other, so you have that confidence. I think it helped we got a couple first easy matches in terms of the way we played. We kind of found our rhythm almost immediately,”

And her partner in crime, Monica Niculescu told media that ” I asked Sania in Cincinnati. I had an idea maybe she wants to play here. I ask her. When she said yes, I was so excited. It seems we won the tournament, so I’m happy I asked her.”

Meanwhile, Sania Mirza also shared her emotion for this important win that just come before the Grand Slam. She informed media wing that ” It’s always nice to have the week before a Grand Slam where you’re able to ease up,”

Well, Sania is keep making us proud and with every year, she is improving and let’s hope she will win the Grand Slam and again give us a moment to cheer and proud.
