You all may know that the Drug Abuse is one of the most brutal problems nowadays in between youngsters. So many people including early teenagers and adults are being addicted to this and we are shocked that whole world is taking it lightly when it should be the main problem and the biggest problem of this century.
If we talk about history then you all should know that by resolution 42/112 of 7 December 1987, the General Assembly decided to observe 26 June as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking as an expression of its determination to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve the goal of an international society free of drug abuse.
Since that time every year, people around the world are taking this day as an International Day against Drug Abuse. We are sure that this day will make a little change when it comes to the drug abuse but if really wanted to eliminate the threat then we should start from the begging, and the first question is why our generation is being addicted?
World Year 2019 Theme –
Building on the success of last year, the theme for 2019 is: “Listen First – Listening to children and youth is the first step to help them grow healthy and safe.” It is an initiative to increase support for prevention of drug use that is based on science and is thus an effective investment in the well-being of children and youth, their families and their communities.
We are waiting that India will also take this day seriously because past few years’ shows that people are being addicted to the drug and other abuse. We should work as a team and as an individual, you can help any person you see who is going through the drug abuse and any kind of addiction related to the drug.
