Grand Canyon University Roommates Killed In Crash Identified
GCU University has confirmed the death of its freshman. According to the reports, GCU took to its Facebook page to address this devastating news. The University stated, “The three GCU students – Abriauna Hoffman, Hunter Balberdi, and Magdalyn “Maggie” Ogden – were all freshmen and suitemates in Diamondback Apartments. The next of kin for each of the students has been notified. It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we share with you that three GCU students passed away this morning after a collision involving a wrong-way driver.”
Now the next question rises, what caused the accident or how did it happen? As per the reports, GCU freshmen were traveling in their vehicle which was struck by a wrong-way driver on a highway. Reportedly, GCU students were traveling northbound while the wrong-way driver was traveling southbound. Eventually, the GCU freshmen’s car was struck by a wrong-way car.
Further, it was reported that there were as many as four vehicles were involved in the accident and four people were rushed to the hospital. When did this accident happen? As per the Arizona Department of Public Safety, this accident happened around 4 am on Monday on Interstate 17 nearly 30 miles north of Phoenix.
The Arizona Department of Public also reported that the wrong-way car traveling southbound in northbound lanes played a major role in a three-vehicle crash. Meanwhile, among the three vehicles, one was of Grand Canyon University students. Two out of three GCU students were pronounced dead at the scene while the third one succumbed to her injuries in the hospital.
