3 More Bodies Of Maoists Recovered Toll Rises To 27 : Odisha Encounter :- On Tuesday, Security personnel recovered bodies of three more Maoists. They were killed during a joint operation by Andhra Pradesh-Odisha police in Bejing jungle between Ramgarh and Panasput in Malkangiri district, Odisha.

On Monday, the police had recovered the 24 bodies of moists. The total number Maoists killed in the joint police operation rose to 27.


The search operations are still on and the death toll may rise further, as per the Visakhapatnam superintendent of police (rural) – Rahul Dev Sharma.

Mitrabhanu Mohapatra who is Malkangiri superintendent of police, said that all the 24 bodies recovered on Monday were identified.

Mitrabhanu said that the bodies have been kept in the mortuary of the district headquarters hospital at Malkangiri. After following due procedure, the dead bodies will be handed over to their relatives.

Police of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh swooped down on the rebels when they were reportedly holding a plenary session in Bejing jungle in the early hours on Monday. Heavy exchange of fire was held between the police and the moists. In the exchange of fire, one AP Greyhound commando Mahummed Abu Bakar was also killed.

The police had seized 20 firearms, including three SLR rifles, one INSAS rifle, one laptop, 10 number of 303 rifles, four AK47 rifles, and Rs 2.16 lakh from the spot.
