5 Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists infiltrate into J&K Valley; Army, IAF on high alert

According to sources, a group of five highly-trained Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists reportedly infiltrated into the Valley from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir due to which a high alert has been sounded in Jammu and Kashmir. The sources also revealed that the Pakistan-sponsored and trained terrorists crossed the Line of Control (LoC) from PoK in the last week of July and the terrorists are highly trained and may attack security forces in the state.

Following the reports, both the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force (IAF) are on high alert. The centre has pressed IAF jets including the heavy-lift C-17 aircraft for rapid induction of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and other paramilitary troops into the Kashmir valley. According to the official sources, Indian Air Force fighter aircraft are on patrolling since the since alert has been sounded in Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, the Home Ministry has also clarified that 10,000 additional paramilitary troops have been inducted in Jammu and Kashmir. About a week ago, a hundred companies of additional central forces were ordered for deployment, who have either reached or in the process of reaching their stations. It further denied the reports of deployment of 28,000 additional troops.

The officials also said that all the major entry and exit points of the city have been taken over by the Central Armed Paramilitary Forces (CAPFs) with a token presence of local police.

Adding to the security measures, the officials confirmed that the security has been withdrawn from some isolated shrines because of the intelligence inputs regarding foreign terrorists plan to target police guard there. Also, some langars for the Amarnath Yatra have also been closed.

They further added that the summer vacations have been preponed at educational institutions and they will be closed for 10 days starting Thursday.
