Kannabiran, a senior consultant of orthopaedic manipulative sports physiotherapy, and member of UK-based Society of Musculoskeletal Medicine, who led the team of experts at the camp, told The Hinduthat 80 per cent of the sports injuries could be cured through corrective exercises, functional fitness and orthopaedic manual therapy.

“Only the remaining ones needed surgical interventions or administering of medicines,” he pointed out. At the camp, ‘global muscle imbalances assessment’ and ‘functional movement assessment’ were performed on the sports persons to ascertain the impact of injuries.
