NEW DELHI: Sharad Chauhan who is AAP legislator from Narela has been arrested by Delhi police in connection with the suicide of a woman worker AAP party. It makes the total number of arrested party leaders+ to 12.
The main accused Ramesh Bhardwaj and AAP MLA Chauhan were questioned by the crime branch of Delhi Police for several hours in the past four days in the molestation case.
According to a senior police officer said that five others including the MLA’s associates Rajnikant and Amit have been arrested on Saturday night, besides Chauhan and Bhardwaj.
The police team arrested Ramesh Bhardwaj from Sonipat on 26th July 2016. Ramesh was questioned for several hours in connection with the suicide of the woman, along with the local MLA of Narela.
The woman had consumed poisonous substance at her home in North-West Delhi’s Narela. She died at LNJP hospital during treatment on July 19.
The victim woman had filed a complaint against Bhardwaj for touching her inappropriately. Molestation case was registered in the month of June. The accused was arrested by the police but later he was released on bail.
On 20th July, Delhi Police had registered a case of abetment to suicide. Then police handed over the entire matter to a Special Investigation Team.
She had also alleged that the accused was being protected by the local AAP MLA and CM Arvind Kejriwal.
