Abdul Basit: Pakistan’s Independence Day Dedicated to Kashmir’s Freedom

On Sunday on the occasion of Independence Day of Pakistan, High Commissioner of Pakistan to India Abdul Basit has made a controversial statement.

Pakistan envoy Abdul Basit said that Sacrifice of the people of Kashmir will not go in vain. Struggle for independence will continue till the Kashmir gets freedom.

High Commissioner of Pakistan, Abdul Basit said in Delhi that Is saal ki Jashn‑e‑Azadi hum Kashmir ki Azadi ke naam karte hain (We dedicate the Independence day of this year to struggle of Kashmir).

He also added in his speech that Pakistan has always made efforts to improve its relationship with India.

Just a day before of Independence Day of India, Pakistan violated the ceasefire at Line of Control(LoC) in the wee hours of Sunday morning to which the Indian forces responded heavily.

On Sunday morning, the Pakistani army resorted to unprovoked firing on Indian side along the Line of Control in Shahpu Kandi area of the border Poonch district,J&K.

Violent protest in the Kashmir valley hit on the killing of the terrorist Burhan Wani by the Indian forces in last month. At least 60 people were killed in the violent protests and more than 5800 people injured in the protests.
