On Thursday, bodies of a top Rajasthan Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) officer and a woman were found inside a car near Jaipur, Rajasthan. The Rajasthan Police found the bodies of Additional SP Ashish Prabhakar and a woman inside an SUV parked on the Mahal road at Shivdaspura, some 30 km from Jaipur.
The Rajasthan Police said that both were killed by gunshots fired from the service revolver of Prabhakar.
At around 7 PM, the police control room received call from the mobile phone of Prabhakar that a woman was lying dead inside a car.
When the police team reached the spot, the team found the dead body of Prabhakar on the driver seat of the SUV car. The woman was found lying on the police officer’s lap. Police is yet to identified the woman. Some empty beer cans were also found inside car.
When police team reached at the spot, the car was locked from inside. Two bullets were fired from the service revolver of Ashish. The police is exploring multiple angles, including that of suicide. Their phone call details are also being examined, DCP Manish Aggarwal said.
As per the sources that Prabhakar ran a civil services coaching institute and the woman was a student there and added that there was an affair between the two. Prabhakar had recently resumed duty in the ATS after a long study leave. He was married.
