Banks are on Strike till December 26, 2018: Most state-run banks, ATMs to remain shut

You all should know that the Banks are on strike till 26th December 2018. Yes! You are reading it right which means that most of the ATMs and Banks are going to show you the shuttered gates as the New Year Weekend is coming. Reports are coming that Banks will remain closed for the long weekend starting Saturday (December 22) till the Christmas holiday gets over on Tuesday (December 25).

You are reading it right Banks will remain shut down till the Christmas holiday gets over on Tuesday (December 25).  Even though we are expecting that some branches could remain open on Monday to bring some relief to customers. Still, we are quite paranoid because this festival timing and strike could make a lot of people disappointed while they’ll not find cash.

Some of you might know that the all-India bank strike has been called because the employees are demanding the immediate revision of salaries. Also, they are protesting against the impending merger of three nationalized banks. Some sources are indicating that the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has, on the other hand, called for a second bank strike on December 26.

Overall, this strike is bad for normal people and customers are feeling bad about it. You all might know that the holiday season is here and a lot of things are affected by this strike. As a result of this second strike after a long weekend, the total number of days that the banks would remain shut now stands at six. Also, the reports are coming that not all banks are going to be shut down.
