Class 11 student smuggles gun to school, shoots classmate in Uttar Pradesh

Ghaziabad: A student of the eleventh-grade of Dehradun Public School at Govindpuram, on Wednesday, smuggled a gun to the school and shot a classmate over an argument.

As per the report that the victim suffered a bullet wound to his waist and was hospitalised immediately. However, the victim is out of danger.

The police said that over an argument, the incident took place between the victim and the brother of the shooter.

But, the victim’s father claimed that his son was first hit with belts by the accused. At 11:25 am three of his friends availed before shooting him with a country-made pistol.

The teachers and school administration officials caught the accused. They handed him over to the police along with the weapon in question.

The police had filed a case against the minor accused for attempted murder.

The police officer of Kavi Nagar Police station said that there was only a single bullet fired from the weapon and the used cartridge was also recovered from the scene of crime inside the class. We have also recovered the weapon and will question the parents of the boy as to how they procured it.

Three other students of the eleventh class accompanied the accused were also included in the complaint.

Three of the accused are from Sikrod in Masuri, Ghaziabad while one was from Dasna Gate. However, the victim hails from  Dadri village, Greater Noida.
