After the successful Janta Curfew on 22nd March 2020, several state governments have imposed lockdown in their states in order to stop the spread of this deadly contagious virus.
Here’s What Will Remain Open Throughout Lockdown Period
On the other hand, the capital has also effectively imposed the lockdown from 23rd March 2020 (Monday) 6 AM onwards, and the lockdown will carry on till 31st March 2020.
According to Delhi Cheif Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, the borders of Delhi touching Haryana as well as Uttar Pradesh are now sealed. But, only the essentials items are going to be imported like all the food items. In addition to that, no public transport services which include private buses, autos, e-rickshaws among others, are not allowed to function during the lockdown in Delhi.
There will be only 25 per cent of the DTC bus fleet are going to continue their services on Delhi roads in order to carry people who are involved in essential services.
On Sunday, Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal also tweeted, “For preventive measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 outbreak, directions have been issued for lockdown in the whole territorial jurisdiction of NCT of Delhi from 0600 hrs on Monday 23rd March 2020 to midnight 31st March 2020.”
Indian Prime Minister, Narender Modi has also said in his speech that all the Malls are going to remain closed but the Pharmacy as well as Grocery Stores won’t be closed and will remain operative throughout the lockdown period in several Indian states and cities.

- Electricity
- Water
- Takeaway/home delivery in restaurants
- Activities related to function of Delhi legislature
- Municipal services
- Food items, Groceries
- ATMs
- Milk plants
- Animal fodder
- General provision stores
- Print and Electronic Media
- Petrol pumps
The domestic flights which were earlier exempted from the lockdown, have been also been suspended after ward for the duration of this lockdown period. No one is allowed to enter the nation or to go out to other destinations. Movement of interstate buses/trains/DMRC are also suspended till 31st March 2020.
Right now, there is total number of 492 confirmed cases of coronavirus in India, and out of these there are 36 recoveries and nine deaths, as of 24th March 2020.
