As per the dwellers of the area, though several measures have been taken by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and the State Pollution Control Board they seemed to an eyewash. Reportedly, the people in the area are most irritated by the foam that enters the houses nearby.

Abhinav Reddy, a resident of Dharaninagar, said, “The foam forms over the Pariki Cheruku every time it rains. This is the sixth or the seventh time that we have seen foam-forming over the lake. Officials just put some anti-foaming agents and leave. But the foam forms soon after it rains again. No concrete measure has been taken so far.” While another resident, Nivas, pointed out that authorities have put up large plastic nets on two sides of the lake so that it would prevent the foam from entering houses, but it’s of no use. In spite of giving several representations, no permanent solution has been found. Nivas said that the authorities have assured them that they would minimize the damage, however, they also claimed that there is no solution across the globe to prevent frothing on water bodies.
