Aate di chidi shows the realty by showing the lust of Punjabis to move abroad but the life you imagine in abroad is totally different than your imagination. The movie starts off by showing the problems faced by Sardar Sohi’s family and then the audience are commenced to the fact that everything is not ideal or flawless in abroad for any NRI. The first half of the movie shows about the problems faced by the people who shifted to abroad. The second half of the movie shows the reality of present Punjab. The family was amazed to see such a huge change in Punjab over a period of time; it is a reality check for the NRI Punjabis.
All the actors did a decent job by making the audience laugh and sentimental at various scenes. Amrit Maan showed full justice to his character, Kamaljit Anmol provides hilarious laughs and Harry Bhatti did a good job in emotional scenes.
